Little Italy’s Good Friday Procession in Toronto, Canada

Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The commemoration takes place in Little Italy, Toronto.

The Good Friday procession reenacts the 14 stations of the cross, symbolizing the path Jesus walked before his crucifixion. Preparations for the procession take place at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi.

Hundreds of people line the streets of Little Italy to watch the procession, in which parishioners are dressed as Jesus, Roman soldiers, and disciples, carrying statues and banners telling the story of Jesus’ crucifixion.

This event took place on March 29th, 2024. I used my Canon T3 EOS with an 18-55mm Lens and a 55-250mm long-range zoom equipped with an image stabilizer.
